Stray dogs and phone boxes

Somebody read my blog! (Thank you John!), I feel so encouraged! Sadly that phrase has some negative connotations for me. When I was a kid my mum used to say about stray animals ‘don’t stroke them it will only encourage them.’ Putting my subliminal associations with needy animals to one side I did feel happily encouraged! So this morning I got up at 6 and went out before breakfast. I put on Saturdays running clothes. When I got home on saturday i was in such a bad mood about my failed run that I decided that my kit didn’t deserve laundry! So i wore it today to exorcise (rather than exercise) the demons. Only 2 miles in 30 minutes (but150ft elevation according to my watch. I ran up the hill to the telephone box. See the mawil on the window? It was meant to be!

About mawil1

Hi my name is julie and I took up running at the age of 46! Hence 'mawil' Middle Aged Woman In Lycra. I did it at first because someone asked me to do a charity run with them. I couldn't run at all, but pride wouldn't let me be seen to be unable to run so I started a walk run programme. I stuck with it and to my surprise I found that I liked it- after a couple of weeks of progress I was hooked! My blog is about my progress in running and how I fit it in with the rest of my life.
