To race or not to race?

It’s such a beautiful day today
it’s the weekend and I have the day off. We are at home with no big plans and my legs and my heart are aching to go for a run! But I can’t because I am tapering for tomorrow!
It has made me wonder whether its worth entering for events because its stopping me from running when I really want to. On the flip side though I think that having something to aim for has probably kept me going with the running .
So today I suppose that we will just go for a walk instead! And yes I will plan an autumn event and enjoy training through the summer .

About mawil1

Hi my name is julie and I took up running at the age of 46! Hence 'mawil' Middle Aged Woman In Lycra. I did it at first because someone asked me to do a charity run with them. I couldn't run at all, but pride wouldn't let me be seen to be unable to run so I started a walk run programme. I stuck with it and to my surprise I found that I liked it- after a couple of weeks of progress I was hooked! My blog is about my progress in running and how I fit it in with the rest of my life.
