Just a bit of motivation.

OK Well I’ve really done it now. After my post on ‘fitting it in’ I haven’t fitted any running in for 4 days. Please accept my apologies for gross hypocrisy. Today I was at work and instead of leaving early when I had the chance and going for a run (I even had my kit in the car) I decided to log onto the Internet and spent an unwise 30 minutes looking for a half marathon. It was a bit pre meditated – I already knew what I was looking for. In a flash of misplaced enthusiasm I signed up for a half marathon in November. So now I have 5 months to double my mileage ! I have also committed to fundraising for this – so no added pressure then!

About mawil1

Hi my name is julie and I took up running at the age of 46! Hence 'mawil' Middle Aged Woman In Lycra. I did it at first because someone asked me to do a charity run with them. I couldn't run at all, but pride wouldn't let me be seen to be unable to run so I started a walk run programme. I stuck with it and to my surprise I found that I liked it- after a couple of weeks of progress I was hooked! My blog is about my progress in running and how I fit it in with the rest of my life.

Start tomorrow, it doesn’t how short a run it is, just start. It sounds simple, but I know its not!
