I needed to encourage myself to go for a run today and it started off as a complete plod. Over the last 3 weeks my already fragile routine has fallen apart what with tapering, recovering and then last Wednesday I developed low back pain. I stopped running for a few days and concentrated on stretching but it hasn’t gone. On Saturday I decided to give Parkrun a go. To my surprise my back didn’t hurt at all whilst I was running but stiffened up quickly afterwards. I think I was a bit demoralised also by being 2 minutes slower than my PB.
So today I forced myself out. Plod plod plod through the village. Then I turned off into the fields and somehow my spirits lifted and I just kept going. I ended up taking the long route through the woods
There were bluebells and wild garlic and blades of really bright green spring grass. So far my back feels OK but I have booked hubby to babysit tonight so that I can go to yoga.
