Enjoying the outdoors without running

I’m sitting in garden this evening. It isn’t , on first impressions, the most attractive place in the world. The flagged patio is slightly rumpled like a lazy seascape and the lawn has been overtaken by buttercups. There is a gardener, but once a week isn’t keeping up with all the sun and rain. We don’t come out here much. Hubby has hay fever and even on the sunniest of days there is always a wind. Today though I have been working on the computer all day so after picking joe up I thought that it was time for a change of scene.
I’m lying on a rug and am ever so slightly chilled in both senses. The bees love it here. There are two of them methodically making their way along the buttercups and about ten on the rhododendron bush.
It’s nice to watch someone else work!
I don’t think I will be running today though due to my chesty cough. It just doesn’t fit with the weather!

About mawil1

Hi my name is julie and I took up running at the age of 46! Hence 'mawil' Middle Aged Woman In Lycra. I did it at first because someone asked me to do a charity run with them. I couldn't run at all, but pride wouldn't let me be seen to be unable to run so I started a walk run programme. I stuck with it and to my surprise I found that I liked it- after a couple of weeks of progress I was hooked! My blog is about my progress in running and how I fit it in with the rest of my life.
