Run 2 week 1 c25k again!

Well it wasn’t as easy as Thursday despite being the same run! Maybe a couple of beers last night had left me a bit dry and what do you know it’s sunny today!
Anyhow managed just under 3 k in my 25 minute run walk. It was hard work as I was pushing myself for the run bits (like I had to when I did it last year, only this time the running is actual running and not shuffling). So I’m optimistic that if I keep this up and run at that speed for the whole 25 minutes by the end of the programme I will be able to do 5k which will be 10 minutes off my current Parkrun PB. I don’t know how realistic that would be but I would see it as a massive achievement!
I still need to work on endurance as well as speed (if i’m going to manage my 21k in november) so I’m thinking of factoring in a weekly long run also.
Next stop is yoga class tomorrow then Monday is my appointment with the gym instructor.
Busy busy!

About mawil1

Hi my name is julie and I took up running at the age of 46! Hence 'mawil' Middle Aged Woman In Lycra. I did it at first because someone asked me to do a charity run with them. I couldn't run at all, but pride wouldn't let me be seen to be unable to run so I started a walk run programme. I stuck with it and to my surprise I found that I liked it- after a couple of weeks of progress I was hooked! My blog is about my progress in running and how I fit it in with the rest of my life.
