This is is the book I’m currently reading and it’s fantastic. I didn’t know who Lizzie hawker was when I started it, (successful ultra runner) but I couldn’t put it down, ( letting my son have just another 30 mins on the iPad – bad mother😱).
anyhow, she says at the beginning that she isn’t going to talk about how she trains or what she eats and honestly there’s nothing for people like me to learn from someone like her even if she did, as far as I can see she was gifted with the right gene package and life events to be the runner she is.
What she does talk about is how it feels when she’s running. It’s fabulous, it’s like you are there with her and for some of us is probably the closest we will get to the feeling of running over the mountain tops. It isn’t all roses though, she has some difficult days and she writes about how she feels about that too.
