WWWP5k -done today!

imageI wanted today’s run to be special, sort of celebratory. Why? To celebrate being home after 3 weeks away, to enjoy the Autumn countryside, to rejoice at having a day off, to mark the beginning of a new training cycle ( the bit where I run instead of not running!). I also wanted it to be a bit special because I’d said that I’d do the WordPress virtual 5k #wwwp5k which I heard about on neveradullbling.com.

So I took a drive to nearby Tockholes where I knew I could get onto a lovely woodland trail by the reservoir.

Darwen tower to the left I didn't go that way today!

A lovely carpet of autumn leaves.

It’s  a good job I went for a special place as my run itself wasn’t too special after a month of infrequent and erratic runs! I had to take it fairly slowly because of all the tree roots and it was quite undulating and muddy.

Some lovely colours though!

3.14 miles, I think that’s 5k, albeit very slow with a lot of walking!

About mawil1

Hi my name is julie and I took up running at the age of 46! Hence 'mawil' Middle Aged Woman In Lycra. I did it at first because someone asked me to do a charity run with them. I couldn't run at all, but pride wouldn't let me be seen to be unable to run so I started a walk run programme. I stuck with it and to my surprise I found that I liked it- after a couple of weeks of progress I was hooked! My blog is about my progress in running and how I fit it in with the rest of my life.
