New shoes!

Yay my turn for a new shoes post!image

It was necessary because my old faves had holes in them. 😊

I had noticed a billboard pointing down a side street to an ‘up and running’ shop in our local town so I went there. It was the smallest running shop I have ever seen! There was a treadmill squeezed between the shop window and the counter and just enough room to walk around in an ‘L’.

It was all there though! With an emphasis on fell running/trails. On display they had brooks, asics, saucony, hoka, inov8, saloman and ‘Walsh’. Walsh being heavily cleated fell running shoes made in Bolton. I might go back for a pair of those in the spring.

I tried on some Hokas, which to me felt odd with all that mid foot support- like being on rockers. I’m not a heel striker so I didn’t know it they’d work for me. So I just bought another pair of the same again! Asics cumulus😊 They have always done well for me!

I tried them out (in the rain) last night and they were fine. The blue colour scheme will complement my running wardrobe!😎

About mawil1

Hi my name is julie and I took up running at the age of 46! Hence 'mawil' Middle Aged Woman In Lycra. I did it at first because someone asked me to do a charity run with them. I couldn't run at all, but pride wouldn't let me be seen to be unable to run so I started a walk run programme. I stuck with it and to my surprise I found that I liked it- after a couple of weeks of progress I was hooked! My blog is about my progress in running and how I fit it in with the rest of my life.
