5C4B6291-3574-4DBB-858B-7929E3369AC0Because I never get in anyway so nothing to lose (well £39). Because I’ll have to start running now just in case I do. Because it looks like such an amazing experience on TV. Because I’d really like to do something that challenges me and I succeed. Because I’m a crazy middle aged woman. Craayyzeee……

About mawil1

Hi my name is julie and I took up running at the age of 46! Hence 'mawil' Middle Aged Woman In Lycra. I did it at first because someone asked me to do a charity run with them. I couldn't run at all, but pride wouldn't let me be seen to be unable to run so I started a walk run programme. I stuck with it and to my surprise I found that I liked it- after a couple of weeks of progress I was hooked! My blog is about my progress in running and how I fit it in with the rest of my life.

  5. Good luck in the draw. My brother (who ran this year) tells me you might have a 4 in 100 chance of getting in. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you. ☺

So if I try every year for 25 years I should get a place at some point?😂😂 this is my 3rd ballot so that means that I should get to do it by the time I’m 74! No probs!

And why not! Its a big goal and theres plenty of time so go for it! Im excited for you – octobers like ages away – might as well get training now though!

  7. I have entered me and hubby too under the assumption that we never get in! It would be sooo cool if we did though. My dad got in 3 years ago and loved the whole experience, in fact it’s the only time I’ve seen him smile while running even though he has been a keen runner for 40 years now! Fingers crossed. x

Good luck, it’s a marvellous experience. We always spectate around mile 18 and we find it humbling to see so many people make such a supreme effort. Best to do some training, though. 26 miles is not very forgiving!
